How We Worship At the heart
of our life as God's people is the weekly service of worship on the
Lord's Day (Sunday). In worship, the risen Lord meets with his people,
receives our praises, hears our prayers, addresses, corrects and builds
us up through the reading and preaching of his Word, and nourishes us
with his body and blood in the sacrament of the Lord's Supper.
We meet for worship at 10:45 a.m. Our Sunday morning service is the main
service of the day. Our Order of Worship has been carefully structured to
reflect the fact that worship involves a dialogue between God and his people, is
mindful of the breadth of Christ's Church, and provides for Word and Sacrament
every Lord's Day. Sermons are grounded in Scripture, with the texts normally
being taken from the
Revised Common Lectionary (a 3-year cycle of readings for worship).
In addition to our morning service, we have an evening service of prayer and
praise at 6:00. More informal than morning worship, this service provides an
additional opportunity to gather at the close of the Lord's Day to sing praises,
pray, and hear God's Word. |
